Guruvayoor: This year 2024 Illam Nira at Guruvayoor Temple will be held on Sunday, August 18, during the auspicious time of 6:18 to 7:54. On the eve of Illam Nira, a temporary stage system will be set up on the east nada of the temple to lay the sheaves.
This year’s Thriputhari will be held on Wednesday, August 28, from 9.35 am to 11.40 am. On the day of Thriputhari, 1200 liters of Puttari Payasam will be prepared for the devotees. The price will be Rs 240 per litre. The minimum price for a quarter litre (Kal Litre) of Payasam will be Rs 60. A maximum of 2 tickets per person will be allowed. The estimate for the preparation of Puthari Payasam has been approved by the Devaswom Governing Body.
The Devaswom informed that 2200 kadali Banana (Kadali Pazham) and 22 kg of ghee will be used to make Puthari Payasam more palatable.
