Guruvayoor: The 14th Sampoorna Ashtapadhi Maha Samarpanam for Sri Guruvayoorappan jointly organized by Shanmugapriya Foundation and School of Geethagovindam will be held on Sunday, August 11.
The dedication will take place from 8 AM to 11:30 AM at Sree Guruvayoorappan Auditorium, South Nada of Guruvayoor Temple. Mallisheri Parameswaran Namboothiripad, member of the Guruvayur Devaswom Governing Body and Temple Ooralan, will light the Bhadradeepam and inaugurate the function.
About 400 musicians will participate in the dedication of the 12th century Sringara Mahakaavyam “Ashtapadhi” written by Mahakavi Jayadeva, which will be held at Sree Guruvayoorappan Auditorium on the South Nada of the Guruvayur temple.
The organizers said that the school of Geetha Govinda has been able to teach Ashtapadhi music to around thousand people, in this dedication which has been going on for 14 years. The organizers said that singers from many parts of the world have come together to offer this dedication to Sri Guruvayurappan.
The pakkamela is composed by Jayamohan Thekottu on violin, KG Sunil Kumar on mridangam, Idaka Krishnakumar Tripunithura and Girish N Warrier on flute.
Shanmukha Priya Foundation Chairman Mahesh Iyer, Managing Trustee Anuradha Mahesh, SBI Retd. Regional Manager Manoharan K. participated in the press conference.
