Named “My Vision Connecting India,” the award aims to spread the ideas and messages of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam across India, nurturing artistic, cultural, and scientific research activities among children and encouraging reading. Inspired by Kalam’s work of publishing interesting miniature books in eighteen Indian languages and distributing them freely to children, as part of Kalam’s mission to plant 1 crore trees through GreenCos (a unit of 100 trees a week), and recognizing the excellent social work undertaken by the Karnataka-based Veyil Foundation, the Karnataka Seva Award was conferred.
Following the demise of APJ Abdul Kalam in 2015, the Breeze Foundation, founded by Louis, has been actively working in schools and colleges through the “My Vision Connecting India” initiative.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s miniature book, “Golden Words of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam,” has earned Louis the Book of World Record and the Universal Record Forum World Record for creating the world’s largest canvas of dreams. Louis received the “Rashtra Seva Award” from Principal Dr. J. Vasanthi.Lions Club President Bobby Sajeev, Rinil Manohar, Mani PP, and Sumesh KM were present on the occasion and extended their greetings.
