Inspection of Single-Use Items Begins in Guruvayur Municipality

Guruvayur: Following discussions with business representatives in the Guruvayur Municipal Corporation area, traders have been instructed to completely eliminate single-use plastic items. The Chairman’s request has been formally communicated to all establishments. Based on this, the municipality has initiated inspection procedures in the area.
The Municipal Secretary stated that the municipality aims to maintain a clean and beautiful pilgrimage center through public participation and an impeccable sanitation system.
Inspections were conducted in various parts of Guruvayur Municipality under the leadership of the municipal health department staff. Approximately fifty kilograms of prohibited products were seized. Since this is the first offense, no action has been taken. However, the municipality has warned that repeated violations will result in penalties.
