Guruvayur: The month of karkidakam is over. A chingam of hope has been born. The ‘Illam Nira’ ceremony to welcome the month of chingam will be held at the Guruvayur temple tomorrow from 6:18 AM to 7:54 AM.
The Kathirkatas, symbolic of the first paddy harvest, for the famous ritual offering to Sree Guruvayurappan have arrived. Members of the Ajeekal and Manayam heir families brought the Kathirkatas near the East Gopuram this morning. Devaswom Chairman Dr. VK Vijayan received them around 10 o’clock in the morning. Azhikkal Kudumbagam Vijayan Nair, Manayam Kudumbagam Krishnakumar, Temple Deputy Administrator Pramod Kalarikal, staff, and devotees were present.
Thriputhari, a continuation of Illam Nira, will be held on August 28 from 9:35 AM to 11:40 AM. Punnellin payasam and appam will be offered to Sree Guruvayoorappan. The special Puthari Payasam of that day is significant.
