Guruvayoor: The famous Guruvayoor Devaswom Chembai Sangeetolsavam will be held from November 27 to December 11. The online registration to participate in the music festival started on August 1 from 1 pm. Chembai Music Festival is in golden jubilee colors this time.
One must have studied Carnatic music for at least five years to participate in Sangeetarchana. Ten works of knowledge should be shown in the application. Among these, the kriti selected by Devaswam should be sung in five minutes. Raga, Swaram and Niraval are not allowed. Minimum age to participate in Sangeet Archana is 10 years. Hindu applicants who have completed 10 years of age on 1st August 2024 can participate in the music festival.
Following are the recognized presentation categories:- Vocal – Individual / Ensemble (Maximum 5), Strings and Percussion (including Keyboard and Harmonium). Participants should bring the original of invitation card and present at the venue one hour before the specific slot mentioned therein. Copy of identity card along with invitation card with photo and teacher’s certificate are mandatory. Photographs of the participants of the Chembai Music Festival should also be printed on the invitation card that is downloaded.
