Guruvayoor,Chingam Mahotsavam Begins

Guruvayur:The Chingam Mahotsavam at Guruvayoor Temple kicked off today, August 17th, with a grand procession led by the Guruvayoor temple tradition. Organized by the Gurupavanapuri together, the Chingamahotsava welcome group, the event promises to be a spectacular celebration.
A highlight of the day is the Manjulalthara Melam, featuring around 200 musicians from across Kerala. Under the guidance of Vadya Praveen Guruvayoor Jain, these talented individuals will come together to create a mesmerizing musical experience.
Following the Melam, the prestigious Sri Guruvayoorappan Mela Puraskaram will be awarded to deserving musicians who have excelled in their art. This award, consisting of Rs. 10,001, a certificate, and a plaque, is a recognition of their exceptional talent.
The evening will witness a vibrant procession of devotees, accompanied by devotional songs, devaswarupa costumes, thaalipoli, and a captivating panchavadyam led by the renowned Pramod Krishna. The procession will culminate at the Guruvayurappa Thirusanidhi.
Devotees can also participate in a special offering by lighting Aishwarya lamps adorned with beautiful flowers. These lamps will be placed in rows as an offering to the Lord.
The Mahotsavam commenced with a flag-raising ceremony at 5 pm on August 13th, marking the beginning of this auspicious celebration.
