Guruvayur: On Saturday, August 17, the beginning of a new Malayalam year and on the start of month chingam, another festive celebration took place at Gurupavanapuri, where the Chingammaghotsavam was colorful with spiritual excellence.
At 3:00 p.m., around 251 musical artists, without boundaries and distinctions, started the festival with the Manjulalthara Mela composed by Vadya Praveen Guruvayur Jayaprakash. The melam was played for more than two hours under the leadership of Pazhambalakode Selvaraj and concluded the fair with a bang.
Mammiyur Devaswom Chairman G K Prakashan presented the Shree Guruvayoorappan Mela Puraskaram to Marar of Cheranellur Sankarankutty with a prize of Rs 10,001, a certificate and a plaque established by Thekoot Venugopal for outstanding talents in the musical arts.
After the presentation of the awards, the musical talents Elanad Kannan Peringod Nanda Kumar, Plakod Madhavankutty Peringod Chandran Peringod Sreedharan, Pazhambalakod Shanmukhan, Guruvayoor pramod Krishna led a procession of devotees with the talapoli of Sri Krishna’s costumes, deva forms, and silk umbrellas. Accompanied by Hari Narayanaswami and Swami Krishnananda Saraswathi, he started from Manjulal region and reached the presence of Guruvayoorappathirusanidhi through the eastern walkway. The mandapa area in front of the East Walk pillar was beautifully decorated with flowers and pictures, and around 500 lamps were arranged in a row after the Deeparadhana. Guruvayoor Devaswom Chairman Dr VK Vijayan, Administrator KP Vinayan, actor and Academy Award winner Kottayam Ramesh, Dr. Vasudevan, and others joined the devotees and lit up the fire and offered salutations to the Lord.
Dedication Lamps Led by the Devaswom Administrator and other temple officials, the dedicated lamps were received. KT Sivaraman Nair, Anil Kallat, Ravichankat, Balan Warnath, Shashi Kenadath, Sreedharan Mampuzha, Jayaramalakkal, T.
