Guruvayur: Minister V N Vasavan presented the 2024 Guruvayoor Devaswom Sri Guruvayoorappan Temple Art Award to renowned koodiyattam artist Kalamandalam Ramachakyar. Minister V N Vasavan said that temples have contributed significantly to the promotion of classical arts, including Kathakali. The minister informed that the master plan for the comprehensive background development of the Guruvayur temple will be prepared, and work will be undertaken as soon as possible.
Devaswom Chairman Dr V K Vijayan presided over the function. N K Akbar MLA, Municipal Corporation Chairman M Krishnadas, Kalamandalam Kalpitha University Former Vice Chancellor Dr M V Narayanan, Devaswom Governing Body Members K P Viswanathan and V G Ravindran, Municipal Councilor Sobha Hari Narayanan, and Devaswom Administrator K P Vinayan spoke on the occasion.
