Conflicts and protests about hijab are happening in many parts of the world today. But although it is a Muslim country, Tajikistan is a country where Hijab is banned.

Tajikistan is a constitutionally secular country. More than 95 percent of the population here are Muslims. Freedom of religion is here in the constitution. But here there is a special instruction that practicing one’s religion should be strictly controlled by the government. Apart from this, there is also a restriction on the number of people going to Hajj. Tajikistan has a rich history. It has been ruled by President Emomali Rahmon for nearly three decades.

There are also rules to prevent female students below the age of 18 from wearing the hijab. Children under the age of 18 cannot participate in public religious activities except for funerals. Private ceremonies such as funerals and marriages are also regulated by law. The government decides how many people will participate in these functions
