Heavy polling in Kashmir; Big increase in polling rate in Baramulla and Srinagar

Srinagar: Record polling in Kashmir in first election after abrogation of Article 370. There has been a huge increase in the polling percentage compared to the previous elections. A long queue was felt in the polling centers even after seven o’clock.

An increase in polling was recorded in Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag-Rajouri. Reports indicate that there has been a huge increase in this election compared to the 2019 polling.

The polling percentage has doubled in Srinagar and Baramulla compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The polling in Srinagar was 14.43 percent in 2019, but this time it increased to 38.49 percent. In Baramulla, the polling percentage jumped from 34.6 to 59.10.

Jammu and Kashmir has a total of five Lok Sabha seats including Uddampur, Jammu, Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag-Rajouri.
